Learn ArcGIS Pro Programming with Python in Seattle!

King County GIS Center’s training partner Geospatial Training Services is coming to sunny Seattle in April and May to teach two great GIS programming with Python classes. Introduction to Programming ArcGIS Pro with Python will be on Monday and Tuesday, April 29-30 and Intermediate ArcGIS Pro Programming with Python will be on Wednesday May 1. Python programming is a key skill for any GIS analyst and these classes are designed for working with Python in the ArcGIS Pro environment. 

These classes will be held in the King County GIS Center computer training facility, conveniently located in downtown Seattle.

The classes are offered by Geospatial Training Services of Bourne, Texas and taught by Eric Pimpler, who is the author of several books on Python programming for GIS. In Introduction to Programming ArcGIS Pro with Python you will learn introductory level Python skills with ArcGIS Pro to automate your geoprocessing tasks. Specific course modules include:

Module 1: Introduction to Version 3.4 of the Python Programming Language
Module 2: Introduction to using Arcpy in ArcGIS Pro
Module 3: Error Handling and Trouble Shooting
Module 4: Using the Arcpy Mapping Module to Manage Projects, Maps, and Layers
Module 5: Managing Layouts with the Arcpy Mapping Module
Module 6: Automating Map Production and Printing
Module 7: Updating and Fixing Data Sources

In Intermediate ArcGIS Pro Programming with Python you will learn intermediate level Python skills with ArcGIS Pro to further automate geoprocessing tasks. Class modules include:

Module 1: Querying and Selecting Data
Module 2: Using the Arcpy Data Access Module with Feature Classes and Tables
Module 3: Creating Custom ArcGIS Tools
